In this intermediate/advanced student workshop you will be sculpting bas-relief sea-life beads and learning how to break down the shapes and apply them in a bas-relief or low-relief style. Various animal anatomies will be covered to help you create realistic and lifelike beads. Specialty dental tool skills will also be taught to obtain the 3-D subject matter. Students must complete our beginning bead-making class prior to taking this class and will need to have good heat control and control a mass of glass on the end of a mandrel. Drawing skills are a plus. Students should bring their own beadmaking tools, as well as didymium glasses. A marver and a butter knife are especially useful. Additional tools will be available for purchase.
